Another sermon from history.  This time from John Wesley who has over 40,000 sermons to chose from.  This message includes some of his testimony.  Namely is efforts to live a good godly life with all the appearance of a Christian and yet not having (until later on in his life) the Love of God or neighbor, nor faith in his heart.  So what is the difference between an almost Christian and an altogether a Christian is explained in this sermon I wish I had written.

God gave us his best and he expects our best in return.  Malachi teaches that God wants and deserves our best.

Zechariah is a message calling all of us to Return to God.  After all, the book of James says, "Draw near to God and God will draw near to us."

The end is near is the cry we heard around the turn of the millennium.  But have we heard such cry lately?  The fact of the matter is that the Lord is coming back.  And this time it will not be as a man who loved us and died for us.  The second coming will be a day of God's wrath and judgment on sin.  And so we need to keep in mind what the day of the Lord will mean for us as we look at the day of the Lord from Zephaniah.

Habakkuk is a book about a man who cries out to God about the evil in the world.  And God answers him!  Find out how we are to respond to the problem of evil in the world.

There is a light at the end of the tunnel.  His name is Jesus.

Obadiah has a message for us today- You get what you pay for.  God is not mocked and we will reap what we sow.  This is just as true today as it was when it was written.  So listen all the way to the end (with communion) on how we reaped what Jesus sowed.

The book of Amos is written by a shepherd with a message given by the Great Shepherd.  It's message is one of dependence on the Lord who is our shepherd.  So we need so seek this shepherd who will lead us back in fellowship with him.

I am starting a new series looking at the 12 minor prophets in the Old Testament (Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah, and Malachi).  I titled the series "Majoring on the Minors".  These little-read and little-preached on books are some of the most fascinating in the Bible but because of their size (minor compared to the major prophets of Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Ezekiel) they are often skipped over and ignored.  Amazingly you will find that these minor prophets speak to major issues today in our modern world.  As we start with Hosea, we will see his message of God's love for us even when we turn away from us will pursue us and try to win us back into a right relationship with him.

How will you die?  Will you die in peace (rest in peace)?  Jesus did and so can you by trusting in the same Father he did.  Find out more in this message about the last words of Christ from the cross.
